About the Artwork

Listings on ARTventory are currently from individual artists, nonprofit organizations and commercial galleries. Work present on our website is found through professional connections. Artwork listed may be an artist's most recent work; a special project, edition or series; or past work that is relevant to an artist's current work. We understand that after exhibitions most unsold artwork returns to the artist's or organization's storage and out of the public domain. ARTventory provides a commercial venue with unlimited space to keep this work in sight. Although our space is not curated, we do maintain some say-so regarding whom and what is listed.

Mission

ARTventory helps artists and organizations (both commercial and nonprofit) list and sell art inventory. It is from our experience that patrons are more likely to purchase work that they can see than work they cannot. Selling art inventory enables artists to finance new projects and assists organizations in funding future exhibitions. Our collective listing system facilitates sharing collector contacts and expertise in online commerce with a fraction of the financial cost and time that is required to setup individual sites, plus it's a less lonely existance. We would also like for our site to grow into a useful tool, in some facet, for all interested in art.

Purchases & Shipping

The work listed ships directly from the artist, gallery or non-profit organization. ARTventory does not carry physical inventory. Once you place an order, we collect your payment and facilitate the shipment of your purchase. We will provide you with estimates on shipping times and tracking information. We make sure that you are satisfied with your purchase before paying the artist or organization responsible for shipping the work to you. Shipping information is specified in each product listing. Domestic shipping and packaging costs are included in most prices. If you are outside of the continental United States or purchasing multiple works from one artist, please contact us for a custom shipping quote.

All charges will be listed as ARTventory on your credit card bill. We accept checks, but checks must clear before the artwork is shipped.

Purchases billed to North Carolina addresses must pay an 7.25% state sales tax.

Return Policy

Buyers have 14 days following the delivery of their purchase(s) to decide if they wish to make a return. We want to be certain that you are satisfied, however we also wish to promptly pay the artists and organizations who list with us. If you are unsure about a piece please contact us BEFORE purchasing it.

If you wish to return artwork purchased through our website, or if the artwork arrives damaged, please contact us immediately to initiate the process. DO NOT simply return the work on your own.

Unless your purchase arrives damaged, you, the buyer, pays BOTH return shipping and the initial shipping plus packaging costs. Upon our return receipt of the undamaged work, your account will be credited for the original amount charged minus return shipping and the initial shipping and packaging costs. If required, we will provide documentation of the initial shipping and packaging costs. Again, if you are uncertain about a work please contact us before making a purchase and we will attempt to answer all of your presale questions.

Art Submissions

ARTventory is always looking for new artists, nonprofit organizations, collectors and galleries to help list and sell contemporary art inventory online. Before contacting us, we prefer that you know at least one person currently involved with our website; however, there are always exceptions. Please contact us for more information.

Site Development – We currently are willing to develop a limited number of separate standalone commerce sites for galleries and organizations. Please contact us for a custom quote.
