Chris Johanson
Contemporary artist Chris Johanson emerged in the 1990s from San Francisco’s underground art scene that came to be known as the Mission School—named for the city’s Mission District where many of the artists lived and worked. Johanson’s work employs a playful, do-it-yourself approach that comments on some of life’s most profound mysteries and mundane details.
The work featured on ARTventory was created by Johanson in collaboration with Davidson College and members of ArtWorks 945 from the Urban Ministry Center in Charlotte. Sale proceeds benefit ArtWorks 945 and the Davidson College Art Galleries.
